Dr Linda von Zeuner

General Practitioner and founder
Special interest in Child Health, Allergies, Aesthetics and Dermatology.
Dr Linda von Zeuner is the founder of Hermanus Family Practice. After years of experience in paediatrics and general practice, she developed a vision for a healthcare environment where families could access thoughtful, evidence-based care from a collaborative multidisciplinary team under one roof.
Her commitment to lifelong learning has shaped the services offered at Hermanus Family Practice. She completed her Diploma in Child Health (DCH) in 2018 and a Diploma in Allergology in 2022, bringing specialised knowledge in childhood health and allergic conditions to the Overberg community. She has also pursued extensive training in medical aesthetics over more than a decade and completed a postgraduate Diploma in Dermatology through the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
The practice represents the combination of Dr von Zeuner’s clinical experience, academic pursuits and creative vision—a space where medical expertise, preventative care and a personal approach come together to support individuals and families through every stage of life.
Dr Marisna Venter
MBChB (UP)
General Practitioner, special interest in Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
Dr Marisna Venter grew up on a farm near Potchefstroom and completed her medical degree at the University of Pretoria. She has a longstanding passion for sports medicine and emergency medicine, with more than 12 years of experience caring for patients in both fields.
Early in her career, she worked with the University of North West as a sports doctor, providing medical support to provincial teams, visiting international athletes and international cricket tours. In 2020, she moved to Hermanus, where she continued her career in emergency medicine before joining Hermanus Family Practice in 2023.
Dr Venter is currently completing her MPhil in Sports Medicine through the University of Cape Town, further strengthening her expertise in the assessment and management of sports injuries, musculoskeletal conditions and exercise-related health concerns.
Known for her approachable nature, infectious energy and practical approach to patient care, Dr Venter combines sound clinical judgement with genuine warmth. Whether treating an athlete aiming to return to competition or a patient recovering from an everyday injury, she is committed to helping people move well, recover fully and stay active throughout life.
Dr Elna Gibson
MBchB (UP,1987), MMed Pediatrics (UP 1993)
Dr Gibson completed her studies as a paediatrician at the University of Pretoria where she qualified with distinction in 1993. Thereafter she worked as a paediatrician in the Netherlands. She settled in the Vaal Triangle in 1996 where she practised for 25 years.
She relocated to Hermanus in 2018 and has since been working as part of the MediClinic team in Hermanus. She recently joined ranks with the Hermanus Family Practice team at Balfour Street.
Dr Gibson is a general paediatrician who has a keen interest in respiratory disorders and allergies, and she is also experienced in treating children with developmental problems, learning difficulties and ADHD. She is experienced in Neonatal and Neonatal Intensive Care work.

Karin Brand
Counselling Psychologist
Karin holds a master’s degree in counselling psychology from the University of Stellenbosch and is a registered Counselling Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
She has extensive experience in psychometric evaluations and can assist in determining a learner’s specific learning abilities and making appropriate plans along with other professionals involved to ensure that learners up to the age of 18 thrive in their environment.
Karin also assists parents and children to navigate developmental adjustments and the emotional, behavioural, and academic challenges that come with it in their home and school environments. While Karin has a special love for children and teenagers, she also enjoys facilitating skills for growth and personal awareness in adults.
Alicia Monnig
Receptionist & Practice Manager
Alicia is our receptionist and practice manager. She is also a wife, mother, and psychology student with a special interest in postpartum mental health. Her wish is to use her platform at the practice alongside her studies to help build a community of support for mothers in the Overberg area.
She is the friendly voice you hear when you phone the practice and is also responsible for keeping the plants alive.
